The Power of the Son of God
Pastor Scott Brenner John 5:24-30
Jesus said, "come forth—those who have done good, to the resurrection of life". (John 5:29)
In other words, "doing good" is closely related to "believing in Jesus".
Jesus is not talking about the salvation through good works. Rather, He's talking about the salvation through faith in Christ. Real faith in Christ bears good fruits.
On the other hand, 'those who have done evil' will come forth to the resurrection of condemnation. These people are the ones who weren't changed by faith in Christ.
Real faith in the Son of God is the only way to receive new nature. Even though a peron does good, if he/she's not reborn, the good work is not of the new nature. The fallen human nature is self-centered and selfish.
Only those who receive the gospel and have the right motivation(by God's love) can bear 'good' fruits.
