Those who try to please God by their own effort, say the words that might please God in their prayer. Jesus called this a 'flattery'.
God is not interested in our flattery words.
In fact, we must realize that we cannot please God by our own effort.
If there's no grace of God, our motivation would be derived from self-centered mind.
When we gaze at Son of God, we receive the new nature.
This new nature gives us stength to do God's will.
